News and Updates 

►October 2012 - Western State Design Hosted Open Houses and Service Schools.  Western State Design recently held all-day Open Houses and Service Schools in Hayward and Cerritos California to train and inform laundry owners and potential investors about the latest laundry technologies, industry news, financing options and a wide range of laundry equipment.  More than 150 local laundry owners and managers attended the full day events featuring product displays, service and industry seminars, special one-day pricing, parts discounts, live equipment demontration and more.  The technical training was conducted by Russ Cooper of Dexter Laundry and attendees were benefited with helpful advice on keeping their Dexter washers and dryers operating reliably and efficiently.  All guests had the opportunities to win a free 60lb Dexter washer and R&B Wire laundry carts.  Mr. Khurshid Ahmed of Jurupa Coin Laundry in Riverside, CL won the Dexter T-900 Washer.  12 free R&B Wire laundry carts were also given out to our guests.

►October 2012 - Western State Design Announces New Expanded Location in Hayward, California.  Western State Design is proud to announce that we have moved our corporate headquarters to a new and expanded location at 2331 Tripaldi Way in Hayward, California. The new facility better meets the needs of all laundry customers, as it features an expanded full-service laundry parts department, state-of-the-art equipment showroom with energy efficient laundry equipment operating for live performance demonstrations, and a customer training center.  Our team of experienced professionals at Western State Design regularly assists customers in the coin-op/vended market, commercial/industrial and cruise lines industries.  Our scope of services include the following for all market segments: furnishing/installing state-of-the-art laundry and mechanical room equipment, laundry design, project financing solutions and development services including architectural, engineering and construction.  For new and existing coin-op customers, Western State Design staff provides consulting services including site demographic/real estate lease evaluations and developing operating proformas.  For commercial/industrial customers, Western State Design can also provide information to laundry owners and managers on evaluating green-friendly alternatives to reduce energy consumption, thereby reducing operating costs and earning substantial energy utility rebates. ►September 2012 - Western State Design held its annual Chicago Dryer Service Seminars on September 13th/14th and September 17th/18th. The seminar provided discussions on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, operation of Chicago Dryer equipment, decreasing downtime, increasing cost savings, as well as a hands-on Q&A with factory service representatives. The seminars offered training to end-users of Chicago Dryer equipment and our attendees were benefited from the knowledge of our most experienced employees and the factory service representatives.

 

 

 

►July 2012 - Western State Design, Inc. Named #1 Distributor Worldwide in 2011 by Dexter Laundry.  Western State Design, Inc., leading the laundry industry through innovation, is pleased to announce it was named the number one distributor in worldwide sales by Dexter Laundry, a leading manufacturer of laundry equipment. The award is based upon the highest sales volume worldwide. "We are very pleased to be named Dexter Laundry's #1 Distributor in 2011 worldwide," said Western State Design Executive Vice President of Sales, Tom Marks. "It is an honor to be recognized for our achievements.  We appreciate the support from our partner, Dexter Laundry." ►June 2012 - Service Linen Supply Granted Environmental Stewardship Award.  Service Linen Supply of Rendon, WA recently received the 2012 Environmental Excellence Award from the Association of Washington Businesses (AWB) for their eco-friendly laundry operations. Founded in 1946, Service Linen Supply is a commercial laundry that processes food and beverage linen for customers in the Pacific Northwest. In late 2011, Service Linen Supply purchased a 250 lb. rated capacity Milnor 92048 PulseFlow tunnel washer from Western State Design. The PulseFlow washer was a main factor in receiving this accolade. Owners Robert Raphael and David Jassny are very impressed with the performance of their new PulseFlow, calling it “the mother of all washers”. Service Linen Supply’s PulseFlow tunnel continues to outperform in production with a minimum amount of fresh water consumed. ►June 2012 - Western State Design, Inc. Receives Trade Professional Alliance Recognition Award. WSD was recently named a 2011 Trade Pro Alliance Annual Recognition Program Winner by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).  PG&E is the utility company providing natural gas and electricity to Northern California customers.   This award program specifically recognizes Trade Pros who deliver the greatest amount of kW, kWh or Therm savings through PG&E's 2011 Energy Management solutions. WSD ranked number 3 out of a field of 600 companies in total therms savings in two geographic areas served by PG&E. Receiving the awards was Dennis W. Mack, president of WSD.   Peter Pano, past Technical Training Director of Linen Supply Association of America (LSAA, renamed TRSA), also attended the award ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Concord, California, on June 15, 2012. The awards were given to WSD because their customers installed MILNOR commercial laundry equipment which substantially reduces the BTU requirements for processing linen.  Despite the economic downturn, WSD delivered significant energy savings to PG&E customers with new laundry equipment.PG&E offers substantial rebates and incentives to their customers for purchasing and installing new laundry equipment that reduces utility consumption.  WSD coordinates efforts to maximize utilty rebates and incentives for our laundry customers.

 ►December 2011 - Western State Design (WSD) recently expanded the Service Fleet. To maintain customer service, WSD replaces their fleet on an ongoing scheduled basis. Additionally, WSD provides a wide variety of local service and onsite maintenance to customers throughout the Western USA and Alaska. Western State Design is expanding the customer service department and our factory trained/certified service technicians provide the best service solution available in the industry. ►September 2011 - WSD Open House is your opportunity to see the latest performance coin/vended laundry equipment.   Dexter Laundry, again, hosted a service school to show our customers the basic repairs and operation of their coin/vended laundry equipment.   Remember, laundromats are a big capital investment, so we want you to know as much as possible to make your investment rewarding.  The next Service School/Open House dates in 2012 will be published very soon.

►June 2011 - Clean 2011 Las Vegas.  It was great seeing many of our customers again at our hospitality reception this year at Clean.  Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Clean Show! We look forward to seeing you again in New Orleans in 2013!

   

►April 2011 - Planet Laundry recently featured an article by Bryan Maxwell, a Senior Sales Associate of Western State Design, regarding how to avoid the common pitfalls of owning and operating a coin / vended laundry.  Bryan's article, “Four Ways to Derail the Dream," provided insight from Bryan's years of experience helping customers be successful laundromat operators.  Bryan serves on the Board of Directors of the Coin Laundry Association, and is an active volunteer with the Golden State Coin Laundry Association (GSCLA). He has served on the GSCLA Board for more than seven years and has made significant contributions as a speaker and committee chairman.
